Cleartext provides a bilingual translation experience through a browser extension, web app, and API. These Terms apply to all use of the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and device tokens.

3. Plans, billing, and cancellations

• Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled.
• Usage limits apply by plan and may reset daily.
• Taxes, refunds, and billing issues are handled through our payment processor.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service.
• Use the Service for unlawful, abusive, or harmful content.
• Attempt to bypass plan limits or security controls.

5. Your content and translation inputs

You own the text you provide for translation. You grant Cleartext a limited license to process that text solely to deliver the Service.

6. Bring your own key (BYOK)

If you provide your own API keys, you are responsible for those keys, their billing, and the terms of the provider. Cleartext does not manage or audit your provider account.

7. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers for authentication, billing, and translation. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services.

8. Intellectual property

Cleartext and its content, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or code.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that translations are error-free or suitable for any specific purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cleartext is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create security risks.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above.
